Yes. We’ve taken the time to study common food additives, preservatives, and highly processed ingredients — so you don’t have to.

Our meals are built around whole, recognizable ingredients. If we wouldn’t cook with it at home, we don’t use it at Nourix.

What ingredients do you avoid — and why?

While many additives are technically approved for use, we choose to avoid ingredients commonly associated with inflammation, digestive discomfort, or ultra-processing.

We do not use:

• Artificial preservatives (like BHA, BHT)
• Artificial colors and dyes
• High-fructose corn syrup
• Hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils
• Artificial sweeteners
• Highly refined seed oils

Why? Because these ingredients are often used to extend shelf life, intensify flavor artificially, or reduce cost — not to support your long-term well-being.

What ingredients do you use instead?

Instead of shortcuts, we rely on:

• Fresh herbs and spices for flavor
• Olive oil and avocado oil for healthy fats
• Natural acidity (like lemon and vinegar) for preservation and brightness
• Real whole foods that don’t need enhancement

Our meals are prepared fresh and thoughtfully portioned — not engineered to sit on a shelf for months.

How are the meal selections made?

Our dedicated staff curates meal selections from our extensive inventory, taking into account any allergies and preferences specified in your order, including any "do not include" notes. Rest assured, your dietary needs and preferences are our top priority in crafting your personalized meals.

Should I store my meals in the fridge or freezer?

We recommend storing all your meals in the freezer upon delivery to extend their freshness. When you're ready to enjoy them, simply transition them to the fridge a day or two before consuming. As our meals are free of preservatives, they're best preserved in the freezer and may start to lose flavor if left in the fridge for more than a week. With proper freezing, our meals can maintain their quality for approximately three months.

How do the meals come packed?

Our meals are thoughtfully crafted using the sous vide technique, then flash frozen—a process that locks in flavor, freshness, and nutrients without the need for preservatives. Unlike traditional freezing, flash freezing preserves the texture and taste, allowing your meals to stay delicious and ready-to-enjoy for months. Individually packed in insulated vacuum sealed bags for long lasting freshness.

Can I make changes or cancel my order after it's been placed?

You have a 48-hour window after placing your order to make changes or cancel items. Please note that canceling a subscription does not cancel a pending order. Once this window has passed, changes or cancellations may not be possible. Additionally, returns are not authorized as we strive to ensure the freshness and quality of our products.

When can I expect my deliveries?

All deliveries are scheduled for Tuesdays/Wednesdays. If you require special accommodation or need to make alternative arrangements, please don't hesitate to let us know. We're committed to ensuring your delivery fits seamlessly into your schedule and preferences.

What happens if I cancel my order within the 48-hour window?

If you cancel your order within the 48-hour timeframe, we will promptly process a refund to your credit card or original method of payment. Please allow 3-5 business days for the credit to reflect in your account, depending on your card issuer's policies.
